Like the website that hosts it, this blog is only concerned with using art and brief texts to uncover the bias and other limitations of thought conditioned by memory and tradition, thus also revealing how this largely unacknowledged tribal egotism that affects all human beings creates and sustains the systemic disorder and violence of the world in which we all live.

Without a radical awakening to the immense distance between our mental and social reality and the truth, we are condemned to continue living in the same cruel division, conflict, and sorrow to which we ourselves sustain with our personal memories, thoughts, and desires.

Two Days at the End of March ― PHOTO ESSAY - 30

Tired of the long winter months in this Northern latitude, we are all eager for early signs of Spring. In my case, this eagerness is expressed in long photographic excursions to the creek nearest to where I live. There were still some remnants of ice present, but the few indications of sprouting vegetation and bird activity were far more beguiling.

I’m almost instinctively attracted to anything in Nature that resembles the human form. And for some strange reason, these two outings to Taughannock creek this last week yielded quite a few encounters with these strange creatures. As you will probably gather when you get to these images, a few of these characters requested that I pay a little attention to their appearance before they allowed their portrait taken.

I hope you enjoy these way premature images of Spring displayed in two different galleries. Let me know if you’d like to purchase any of them. A beautiful print on 13 x 19” art paper will set you back only $54.00.
