Thomas, the cat - Tomas, don gato

Thomas, like most cats, has an enormous capacity to sleep and relax and yet when he is awake there is in him great dignity, a beautiful sense of groundedness and a sharp alertness. He reminds me daily that we have received the gift of life in equal measure, and that this life we share is an indivisible and sacred totality.

The only possibility of real security and joy must lie in us waking up enough to allow life itself refute the sense of separation from it that we human generally feel and maintain.

Thomas, como la gran mayoria de los gatos, es capaz de dormir y relajarse casi interminablemente, sin embargo cuando esta despierto hay en el una gran dignidad, un peculiar sentido de equilibrio y la mas aguda atencion. El me recuerda a diario que hemos recibido el don de la vida en la misma medida y que esta vida que compartimos es una totalidad, indivisible y sagrada.

La unica posibilidad real de seguridad y gozo debe estar en que despertemos lo suficiente como para permitir que la vida misma refute el sentido de separacion de ella que nosotros los humanos por lo general sentimos y mantenemos.
