Only ocassionaly do my frequent visits to this local creek yield truly good photographs. Good in the sense of being artful representations of rare and specially beautiful objects or events. While there is some degree of care and descrimination which I hope is evident to you, I must confess that the more I look around this ancient creek bed, the more I see and the more I find everything I see beautiful beyond measure; not in itself but in its blessed, seamlessly interconnected presence within the unimaginable whole.

Ultimately, beauty must be really in a mind that is so open, so nothing in itself, that it is able to see everything without exercising particular choice. Maybe the only real peace and happiness for human beings is present in relationships between people so free of useless emotional and intellectual baggage (personal especialness, what I like to call "self-steam"), that they are actually capable of cooperation without conflict and deep love. Love not in the sense of the attraction between two or more separate entities, but love as a state of being free of separation.

Mis frecuentes visitas a este arroyo muy pocas veces resultan en fotografias verdaderamente buenas. Quiero decir buenas en el sentido de ser representaciones artisticas de objetos y eventos unicos y especialmente bellos. Aunque espero que te sea evidente el que hay en estas imagenes un cierto grado de cuidado y descriminacion, debo confesarte que cuanto mas se abren mis ojos a este viejisimo arroyo, mas es lo que veo encontrandolo todo bello mas alla de mis pobres descripciones verbales o fotograficas. Todo lo que cualquiera puede ver alli es bello, pero no en si mismo si no en su bendita e inseparable presencia dentro de la totalidad inimaginable.

Al fin y al cabo, la belleza debe residir realmente en una mente que se haya tan abierta, tan nada en si misma, que es capaz de verlo todo sin seleccionar nada en particular. Quizas la unica paz y felicidad humana esta presente en las relaciones entre gente libre de toda inutil carga emocional e intelectual y por lo tanto realmente capaces de cooperacion sin conflicto y profundo amor. Amor, no en el sentido que nos es mas familiar de la atraccion entre dos o mas entidades separadas entre si, si no amor como el estado de ser en el que no existe la separacion.
